My One True Love
I met you on your journey seemingly by chance,
I thought the draw was physical, perhaps it was romance?
But soon it was apparent that my heart was in for keeps.
Knowing that I'd found the one, who'd make my life complete.
I've found in you the very thing, my heart's been looking for...
You will be my one true love, the one whom I adore.
We'll share our lives together, growing closer with each day.
Knowing that you're meant for me, in each and every way.

Our Path
We've got the rings, we've set the date,
the paths we've taken must be fate.
What makes this passage seem so clear?
It's the strength in me when you are near.
Like no one else I've ever met,
I trust in you with no regret.
It's like a dream or fairy tale,
yet up ahead are walls to scale.
Those walls will come far and few,
you'll trust in me, and I in you.
One sweet kiss will change my life,
I'll be your partner and your wife.
The moment that we say, "I do",
we'll take one path instead of two.

My New Son
Since she was just a little girl I knew the day would come,
when she would say these few sweet words, "Mom, I've found "the one".
I knew he would be special, this man who'd fill her life,
someone she could count on, as she became his wife.
In watching you together, I've come to realize,
just how grateful that I am, to see such joy within her eyes.
When you join our family and as she joins in yours,
I know you'll make her happy, the one whom she adores.
Through all the years I thought of this man, who'd be, "the one."
I never knew that I would feel, such love for my new son.

Our New Son

My Son
Since the moment you were born my life's been filled with joy,
feeling awe and wonder as I held my baby boy.
It seemed we'd have forever as I watched you quickly grow
but I find myself now asking where did my baby go?
Soon you will be married, now that you've found "the one",
my baby's gone forever, but you'll always be my son.
So I send with you my blessings for all life has to give,
from the day that you will marry and through all the years you live.
And though these years passed quickly, I have cherished every one,
I am so proud of who you are, the man who is my son.

To My Dad As You Marry
As your wedding day draws closer it means so much to me,
to see your happiness and to know it's meant to be.
You've always done so much for me and I'm grateful for each day,
you gave to me your love and care that helped me find my way.
Because of this I know so well my life's been greatly blessed,
you've always given from your heart and deserve the very best.
Your wedding day will soon begin what I hope for you will be,
a life that's filled with love and joy like you have given me.

From the first day that we held you and looked into your eyes,
we thought we knew the road ahead but each day brought surprise.
We promised to delight you with new and wondrous things,
but truth be told the delight was ours each time you spread your wings.
We tried to give you freedom yet shelter you from harm,
it would have been so simple just to keep you safe and warm.
But your spirit always boundless needed room for you to soar,

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
my soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
for the ends of being and ideal grace.
I love thee to the level of every day's
most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for right.
I love thee purely, as they turn from praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use
in my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
with my lost saints. I love thee with the breath,
smiles, tears, of all my life; and, if God choose,

Although you may not see her you know your Mom is here,
you carry her within your heart and feel her presence near.

Years From Now
Years from now when we are old and grey,
we’ll think back on our wedding day.
Remembering fondly where we began,
with young love to guide us in all of our plans.
How will I know that our dreams had come true?
because I’ll be the one sitting next to you.
We’ll be older and wiser in love and in life,
so grateful that we are husband and wife.
On the day that we marry let's promise to meet
far in the future… I’ll save you a seat.
