The One You Call Son
I'll marry the man I know is the one,
the one that I love is the one you call son.
This hanky is for you to wipe away tears
of happiness, joy and a mother's fears.
On the day that we marry all three will be yours,
as we walk down the aisle to open life's doors.
I'll thank you now for giving him life,
for teaching him to love for I'll be his wife.
I'll reap the reward for all that you've done,
for the one that I love is the one you call son.
Thank you for raising such a wonderful man.

A Blessing to Me
To marry your son is the dream of my life,
I'll be so proud to become this man's wife.
You've been his mentor for all of these years,
there for him always through laughter and fears.
You knew when to guide him and when to let go,
the latter the hardest as most parents know.
Because of your caring he grew up to be,
the love of my life a blessing to me.

Dear Mom & Dad,
It wasn't until I fell in love that I could fully understand what
your love and sacrifices have meant to me throughout my life.

Dear Dad,

Butterfly kisses, afternoons at the park,
calling me home before it was dark.
Holding your hand when crossing the street,

Although I was young I did pay attention,
to the ways that you cared, too many to mention.
As I grew older you gave me my space
and yet you were there, any time, any place.

You may not think I realize the sacrifice you’ve made,
to give your life, your love and care, no higher price is paid.
It is the reason I’ve become the man that I am,
hold this hankie on the day I wed and know “I understand”.
I know we’ll both be feeling a little sadness filled with joy,
but please remember Mom, this is not goodbye.
This is what you've dreamed for me since I was very small,

From one mother to another, only you'll understand,
these emotions we share as your son takes her hand.
The day that we watch her walk down the aisle,
to the man that she loves will be lifes shortest mile.
How grateful my heart that in all of the world,
he's found his true love, my little girl.
As mothers we taught them to give from the heart,
they'll share all they learned in this life they will start.
